Dr. Pham, an expDr. Pham, an experienced acupuncturist in San Jose, California, received his Doctorate for Oriental Medicine from the San Francisco College of Acupuncture. Prior to this, he was a licensed acupuncturist in California. Dr. Pham is unique in the San Jose area in that he exclusively treats conditions with auricular (ear-based) acupuncture. Clinically, he finds this method to be more effective than body acupuncture and prescribes both patent and customized formulas to be taken concurrently with acupuncture for better results. Dr. Pham is one of the few acupuncturists with a quarter century of practice. Over these two and a half decades, he has treated a number of clients in San Jose and realizes that his purpose is to be a healer in the art of acupuncture.

How Phamily Acupuncture began.....

Fascinated by the healing powers of Traditional Chinese Medicine since he was a young boy, Dr. Pham eagerly followed his own father, a traditional healer, as he traveled around the countryside. At the ripe age of 19, an acupuncture miracle guided his healing path. Following acute symptoms of fever resulting in meningitis, he witnessed his youngest sister wither away as a medically-diagnosed hopeless quadriplegic case. Yet after only two months of daily acupuncture treatments, she made a miraculously complete recovery. At that moment, Dr. Pham knew his future life purpose was to be a healer.

Dr. Pham is a graduate of San Francisco State University (B.S., 1974) and received a Doctorate of Oriental Medicine from the San Francisco College of Acupuncture in 1986. Prior to this, he was licensed in California as an acupuncturist in 1981. He is also a Diplomat of the National Board of Acupuncture Orthopedics, with postgraduate training in acupuncture for musculoskeletal conditions.

Throughout his career, Dr. Pham has also gained proficiency with Chinese herbal medicine, derived from both his rigorous study under the guidance of an accomplished herbalist teacher, Master Tran, as well as his reading knowledge of classical and modern Chinese and Vietnamese literature on herbal medicine. Clinically, he may prescribe both patent and customized formulas to be taken concurrently with acupuncture.

Dr. Pham is unique in the San Jose area in that he exclusively treats conditions with auricular (ear-based) acupuncture. Clinically, he finds this method to be more effective than body acupuncture. The ear is a micro system, representing the entire body on its structure and thus can be needled to affect other organs and body regions. In his experience, many patients averse to or with unsatisfactory results from traditional body needling respond more favorably to his auricular method.

In a field where successful clinical progress directly correlates to length of experience, Dr. Pham is one of the few acupuncturists with a quarter century of practice. Over these two and a half decades, he has treated clients in San Jose, currently at the McKee Medical Center adjacent to Regional Medical Center of San Jose.
